Summary: Christopher Ferrara continues
to explain the points made by Antonio
Socci in his new book The Fourth Secret of Fatima.
Mr. Ferrara covers both the Vatican’s and Cardinal
Bertone’s position and the inconsistencies
made in their statements in contrast to the evidence,
which ultimately brings us to the final conclusion that
there has to be two texts of the Third
Secret.

Italian Journalist Challenges Cardinal Bertone on
the Third Secret: Part 1
Summary: On June
26, 2000, the Vatican released a portion of the Third
Secret claiming that it was a prediction of the attempted
assassination of Pope
John Paul II in 1981. Antonio
Socci, an acclaimed Italian journalist and television
personality, originally sided with the Vatican’s
interpretation of the Third Secret; but upon closer investigation
of this matter the evidence led him to the same conclusion
as to what Father Nicholas Gruner and the Fatima Center
has been saying all along — that there is more
to the Third Secret than what the Vatican has released.

the continuing deceptive public declarations of Cardinal
Bertone, Vatican
Secretary of State, regarding the Third
Secret of Fatima, demonstrating again and again that
Cardinal Bertone is deliberately hiding part of the Third
Secret and that his statements on Italian TV acknowledge
de facto that there’s more to the Third Secret

Summary: Father Gruner discusses Cardinal Ratzinger’s
(now Pope
Benedict XVI) comments on the Third
Secret, published in Italy in the November
11, 1984 edition of Jesus magazine, which most people
are not aware of. The Cardinal’s comments are very enlightening
and very important to understand what’s going on in the
Church today. Cardinal Ratzinger (as then Prefect of the Congregation
for the Doctrine of the Faith) has read the Third Secret,
and so his comments are most authoritative.
Summary: Father Gruner continues his discussion
(from Program #228) of Cardinal Ratzinger’s
(now Pope Benedict XVI) very enlightening interview
given in 1984 regarding the Third
Secret. Cardinal Ratzinger has read the Third Secret and he
granted a public interview, an extraordinary interview of several
days’ length, regarding many topics in the Church. One of
the things the interviewer asked the Cardinal about was the Third
Secret of Fatima.
Summary: Father Gruner continues his discussion
(from Program #229) of Cardinal Ratzinger’s
(now Pope Benedict XVI) comments on the Third
Secret. In his 1984
interview with Jesus magazine, the Cardinal revealed
that he had read the Third Secret and that the Secret refers to “dangers
threatening the faith and the life of the Christian and therefore
(the life) of the world.”
Summary: Is the Third
Secret of Fatima completely contained within the 4-page document
released by the Vatican on June
26, 2000 or has it been written down as two distinct documents?
Read the evidence presented in this article which clearly supports
the existence of a second document, and judge for yourself.
Summary: Italian journalist Solideo Paolini reports
in detail on his meetings with Archbishop Capovilla, former personal
Secretary of Pope John XXIII, in which Mr. Paolini obtained the
crucial testimony of the Archbishop that there are two texts of
the Third Secret.
Summary: This document is a true copy of the
contemporaneous documentation of Archbishop Loris F. Capovilla,
former personal Secretary of Pope John XXIII, confirming the existence
of the “Capovilla envelope” pertaining to the Third
Secret of Fatima, which was kept in the papal apartment. Vatican
Secretary of StateCardinal
Bertone has never produced this envelope, even though
Capovilla’s evidence has finally forced him to admit its
existence.

Summary: Is Antonio Socci, author of Il Quarto
Segreto di Fatima (“The Fourth Secret of Fatima”)
published in Italy in November 2006, falsely accusing Vatican
Secretary of StateCardinal
Bertone of deliberately hiding part of the Third
Secret? Is he a “liar” or “someone who
consciously lies”? Or has Cardinal
Bertone, Vatican
Secretary of State, used his book L’Ultima Veggente
di Fatima (“The Last Visionary of Fatima”) and
the authority of his office to further cover up the truth regarding
the Third Secret and to silence his opposition?
Expert: Antonio
Socci(Italian journalist and author of Il
Quarto Segreto di Fatima [“The Fourth Secret of
Fatima”] published in Italy in November 2006).
Summary: Porta
a Porta(“Door to Door”, one of Italy’s
most popular television shows, which has provided a forum for
both Italian and world celebrities of all stripes) handed Vatican
Secretary of StateCardinal
Bertone a gift-wrapped opportunity to quash his critics — especially
Italian journalist Antonio Socci, one of Italy’s most respected
Catholic intellectuals. However, on this program Bertone failed
to address a single one of Socci’s contentions
made in The Fourth Secret of Fatima, thus conceding Socci’s
entire case that a part of the Third
Secret still has not been released by the Vatican. As a Catholic
journalist, Mr. Socci is seeking the truth; but one might be led
to wonder: What are the motives for the Cardinal’s strange
behavior?
Summary: This article chronicles the controversy
concerning whether the Third
Secret of Fatima had been fully revealed on June
26, 2000 — from the release of Antonio
Socci’s book The Fourth Secret of Fatima, published
in Italy in November 2006, to the physical assault by Vatican
bodyguards of Socci and another Italian journalist, whose research
leads them to conclude that there is still a part of the Third
Secret yet to be released, at a September 2007 event in Rome,
in which Vatican
Secretary of StateCardinal
Bertone conducted a formal presentation of his book The
Last Visionary of Fatima which propounds the entire Third
Secret has been revealed. Antonio
Socci, an acclaimed Italian journalist and television personality,
originally sided with the Vatican’s interpretation of the
Third Secret; but upon closer investigation of this matter the
evidence led him to the conclusion that there is more to the Third
Secret than what the Vatican has released.
Summary: On November 11, 1984, Cardinal Ratzinger
(now Pope Benedict XVI), then Prefect of the Congregation
for the Doctrine of the Faith, gave an interview in Jesus magazine,
a publication of the Pauline
Sisters. In the interview, entitled “Here is Why the
Faith is in Crisis” and published with the Cardinal's explicit
permission, Cardinal Ratzinger revealed that he had read the Third
Secret and that the Secret refers to “dangers threatening
the faith and the life of the Christian and therefore (the life)
of the world.” This article provides the English translation
and a photographic reproduction of the key part of Cardinal Ratzinger’s
interview and its English translation.

Summary: This article contains Cardinal Ratzinger's
(now Pope Benedict XVI) enlightening comments about the Third
Secret of Fatima, including the full text of his interview
on the Third Secret published in the November
11, 1984 edition of Jesus magazine, in which the
Cardinal gives us valuable insight as to the contents of the Third
Secret. In this article, Cardinal Ratzinger's comments are analyzed
by world-renowned Fatima theologian, Father Joseph de Ste. Marie,
former Professor of Sacred Theology at the Pontifical Faculty
of St. Theresa in Rome.
Summary: Father Kramer, who has studied the facts
and circumstances of the Third
Secret of Fatima for some thirty-five years,
believes Cardinal Ratzinger (now Pope
Benedict XVI) revealed the essence of the Third Secret in
his 1984
interview with Jesus magazine and agrees with Mother
Angelica that it is indeed scary — far scarier than
Catholics have generally understood. Father Kramer cites many
sources — including Our Lady of Akita, Pope John Paul II,
Mother Angelica, and Father Malachi Martin — to discredit the Vatican’s June
26, 2000 interpretation of the Third Secret and to warn us
of terrifying future events.
Summary: In a time when those who argue that
the Third Secret
of Fatima was not entirely released on June
26, 2000 are viewed as “extremists, alarmists, with
nary a worthwhile argument to make”, it is now a very momentous
time because help from a most unlikely source has come concerning
this controversy. Antonio
Socci — acclaimed Italian journalist, television personality,
personal friend of Vatican
Secretary of StateCardinal
Bertone and author of Il Quarto Segreto di Fatima (“The
Fourth Secret of Fatima”) published in November 2006 — originally
sided with the Vatican’s interpretation of the Third Secret
and set out to write a book to disprove the claims of traditional
Fatima devotees that the Third Secret was not fully divulged.
However, after an extensive investigation of the evidence, he
concluded that there does exist two texts of the Third Secret,
one of which has yet to be revealed to the world.
Father Joaquin Alonso, the official
Fatima archivist for sixteen years until his death, who had
unrestricted access to Sister Lucia. Father Alonso stated
that the Third Secret, which follows the words “In
Portugal, the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved
etc.”, probably foretells “the crisis of the
Faith in the Church and the negligence of the pastors themselves.”
In this photograph
from Life magazine in 1949, Bishop José da
Silva displays the outer envelope that he prepared containing
a text of the Third Secret before its transmission to the
Vatican in 1957.
Photo from Paris-Match magazine
in 1958, showing the wooden safe in the papal apartment of
Pius XII in which a text of the Third Secret was safeguarded.
The text in this safe was not the text in the Holy Office
archives.
During his appearance
on Porta a Porta on May 31, 2007, Cardinal Bertone
displays on camera the outer envelope displayed by Bishop
da Silva for Life magazine in 1949.
Bertone displays on camera an unsealed outer envelope
for a text of the Secret, on which Lucia wrote the name
of the Bishop of Leiria — the bishop in charge of
Fatima.
Bertone reveals
on camera that the text of the vision of the Bishop in white
was written on a single folio (sheet) of notebook paper,
even though his own book, published weeks before, states
that when he met with Lucia in April 2000 she authenticated
folios (sheets) of paper. Thus, there is at least one missing
sheet of paper pertaining to the Third Secret of Fatima.
The two Third Secret envelopes.
Top and middle: The front and
back (showing wax seals) of Third Secret envelope #1, bearing
Sister Lucia’s handwritten notation of the “express
order of Our Lady” that this envelope can only be
opened in 1960.
Bottom: Third Secret envelope #2,
also bearing Sister Lucia’s handwritten warning “by
express order of Our Lady” that also this envelope
can only be opened in 1960.
Cardinal Bertone failed to mention the existence of these
two envelopes, and the “express order of Our Lady” written
on each, at any time from June 26, 2000 until the telecast
of May 31, 2007. Bertone had always represented before May
31, 2007 that there was only one envelope and that Lucia
had never received an order from the Blessed Virgin regarding
1960.
A close-up of the single folio
on which the text of the vision was written by Lucia showing
that it is clearly not the “letter to the Bishop of
Fatima” in which she had confided contents of the Secret.
Bertone admitted on camera that the folio he displayed is not a
letter. The missing letter would probably explain the meaning
of the vision.
